Over 70s Insulation

Free Insulation for anyone aged 70 or above came into effect in January 2008. The grants are part of the Government's Carbon Emissions Reduction Target (CERT) which was created to reduce carbon emissions in domestic households.

The previous Insulation Grant scheme (EEC) did not provide free over 70s insulation. This was added into the CERT scheme so that anyone aged 70 or over was considered to be living in a priority household.

Over 70s Criteria

As with all Insulation Grants, the house must be privately owned or rented from a private landlord. The only time there would be anything to pay is if the property is unusually large or special access equipment is required. Lofts must also have 3" or less existing insulation.

How It Works

Simply complete our online application form. One of our approved installers will carry out a free, no-obligation survey. The surveyor will verify the suitablility of your property and confirm your entitlement to free over 70s insulation. The installer will then complete the work and claim the grant afterwards on your behalf.
